Vietnamese Bridal Customs

Three significant festivities take place at a Vietnamese marriage on the same day. Le dam charity, the couple’s family’s visit to the princess’s to officially request for her hand in marriage, is the first ceremony. The two individuals swap donations and perform rituals to represent their vietnamcupid union.

The following ceremony is a tea and candle ceremony ( le te ). The honeymooners honor their ancestors by drinking teas and asking for blessings for their futures collectively during this time. They will also have the opportunity to make their second encounter with extended family members.

A procession moves to the couple’s home for a reception after the tea and light meeting. The bride does receive a surprise carton stuffed with jewelry from her mother-in-law at this formal introduction to her new relatives. In front of their ancestral altars, the bride and groom’s parents did lose fragrant sticks and offer prayers to their ancestors for the couple’s good health, happiness, and fortune.

The bride and groom don conventional Vietnamese attire, known as ao dai, which are available in a range of hues and trends. Their girls and bridesmaids will also be wearing ao dai outfits or a simpler variation of the same dress, depending on the child’s preference.
